This I Believe is an essay series where an individual writes, in 350 to an absolute maximum of 550 words, a belief that defines who they are. Without trying to preach or be dogmatic and only speaking about their self, the author focuses on one idea that makes them the person they are. For more information on how to write your essay, please visit www.thisibelieve.org

We at Sadhana Forest invite you to share your own or listen to a This I Believe essay and be our guest for a free, vegan organic dinner, over which we will share our essays. After dinner, you are welcome to stay for our Monday Chanting. Every week we will share essays around a different theme.

On March 28th at 17:30 the theme will be: Responsibility
On April 04st at 17:30 the theme will be: Peace

The people of Bougainville Island (near Papua New Guinea) have succeed where many groups have failed. This small island has managed to keep back the army of Papua New Guinea. As their struggle fought on and an embargo was placed on them, a different kind of revolution was born; a coconut revolution. From food to biodiesel and everything in between, the people of Bougainville have survived for years under the embargo by utilizing old and discovering new ways of using coconuts.
