Rainbow Foundation Trust
The Rainbow Foundation trust is an organisation founded by S. Manavalan in 2006. Born handicapped himself S. Manavalan had the good fortune to attend a specialized Life Help Center in Chennai. Today he is the director of the organisation that houses thirty-two children. The association runs thanks to donations and currently they have a home for these special children in Nethaji Nagar. Although they have adequate shelter the children are still in need of a nurse, special teachers, a mode of transport and special care.
Since the organisation was in need, Mr Velou, from Velou Textiles & Tailoring, a tailor in Goubert Market had the idea of organising a fashion show to raise money for the trust. Along with Tom Lion and other sponsors such as Softasa , Nadine Zanon, Agnes Deal, Sri Ambal Xerox and Actupondy the fashion show has now been integrated into a Charity party on the 19th of March. The aim of the party was to raise money for the foundation. The party was held at the Atithi hotel who has also extended a supportive hand by hosting the party at their hotel for free, and also contributing the money they made on the drinks bought on the evening.
The party was a grand affair with DJ Jesse from Auroville as the master of ceremony. There were many live performances too including the music bands Zamasanga and G+. Yohann Beneteau sang pop songs ,the Out lasters dance school performed too, not to forget the fashion show organised by Velou Textiles & Tailoring.
The party was a real success and brought in some 135000rs.
